Global Poverty Project

So i haven't update in a while because I have been a bit busy, working and volunteering for a charity, organising an event.

I volunteered for the Global Poverty project which is the follow up to the Make poverty History Campaign back in 2005. They are launching the 1.4 billion reasons summer tour bringing the 1.4 billion reasons presentation to 10+ cities in the UK over the last few weeks in August and the first few weeks in September.

The Belfast event is going to be great with excellent comedians and bands supporting the presentation. It has been great fun to work on apart from the one volunteer quitting and lack of responses from companies and the overall lack of charity in people. I think there's either too many charities around or people just couldn't care. We are trying to make it a fun night where people can have fun while fundraising and gaining awareness and I hope we get a good crowd. Fingers crossed!

Hey, good luck with the event on Friday! I'm volunteering with GPP here in New Zealand - I *really* like the idea of comedy/music and the poverty presentation all rolled in to one. Awesome!

Cheers,
