Alex Reid wins Big Brother!

The winner of the last Celebrity Big Brother was announced on Friday night! Much to my surprise Alex Reid was the victor! I would have loved Dane Bowers to win and I have always loved him since his Another Level days and even some of the presenting he did was great. I hope he gets a lot of work out of this because he really deserves it! I would defintely buy his cookbook!

Alex Reid however, was not my favourite housemate but to be fair to him he was, as the other housemates called him, a "loveable pratt". Some of the things he said were totally ridiculous "Who is Alex Reid?" and kept talking about himself in the third person which is terribly annoying! Watching him getting dragged into Stephen Baldwin's bible bashing nonsense and getting the piss taken out of him by Vinnie was hilarious and he did win people over because he is a nice guy. As soon as he mentioned Jordan's name in the final interview the boos got louder and louder. Finny thing is...she seems to pick really nice guys..Dane Bowyers, Peter Andre and Alex Reid (Lets forget Dwight York) but what I want to know is, How the hell does she do it?

I have loved Celebrity Big Brother this year although last year was probably a little funnier with the drunk Verne Troyer driving his scooter into the diary room door (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFIEcCM7NVM). This year was more calm and depended more on Vinnie and Dane and their locker room banter...quality put downs and sarky comments are much more my thing...lol

Anyway, I am sad that it is over! I really hope Dane works, Sisqo comes back out with Thing Song 2 and Alex Reid dumps Jordan but we will have to wait and see.

Stars Falling from the Sky

Most of my friends know that I am an avid TV watcher and that I love Asian Dramas too! So, here is one of the new Korean Dramas that I am watching (I have a few on the go at the moment (Iris, Loving you a Thousand Times)

Korean Dramas are usually very similar in terms of their story-lines. There is always a love triangle, evil mother type, ditzy female lead, family problems, angry man who falls in love with the lead and changes into a caring boyfriend, poor kissing scenes (only closed mouths???), rich benefactor and cute kids! The only differences will be the overall setting, actors and main story.

This drama is one of the most heart wrenching dramas I have watched. Although most of the typical drama points are being adhered to there are a few differences. Firstly rather than a love triangle it is developing into more of a square as there are 3 male love interests for the female lead being lined up. Another main difference is the quality of the child actors...they are immense! Having these young children (4 of them) convey the pain of their situation (dead parents, no home, no money, trying to survive with their useless older sister trying to take care of them) seems difficult but they pull it off with ease taking me with them into my box of kleenex. I am a sucker for a good crying scene, I even cry when I watch Jeremy Kyle...but still. The kids have skills!

The lead male character Lawyer Kang Ho is gorgeous which helps and his brother and nephew are instantly lovable as their kindness towards the downcast family starts to show. The ditzy female lead is very irritating at times with her incessant babbling and selfishness, and her inability to do her job which she gets fired from and has to beg to get back. Luckily as the story is unfolding she is starting to redeem herself.

Episode 6 has just aired and this drama will probably last between 13-20 episodes so I will be patient and wait for the rest of the story to fill out. (Asian dramas are never as long as British soaps. They are lucky to get a second season!)

I'm guessing though that the heartless lawyer will fall for the ditzy female lead but they probably won't get together until the last scene, she will find out that she is the heir to the company that she had been fired from and all those who were evil to her will get the shock of their lives.

I'll wait and see....

Response from Channel 4

Dear Ms Muldoon,

Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries.

This 7-part series follows on from our series CHRISTIANITY: A History which
was screened earlier this year on Channel 4. The series will explore the
history of The Bible drawing on the thoughts and experiences of seven
different contributors from very different backgrounds. In the series, Gerry
Adams will examine the life of Jesus.

From his perspective as a leading figure in the Irish Republican movement
throughout years of sectarian conflict and the subsequent peace process, and
as a former supporter of political violence, Adams will explore the
contradiction between Jesus' teachings and the involvement of Christians,
and followers of other faiths, in conflict the world over.

As part of the programme, he will be confronted by those who oppose his
views and will meet victims of violence from both sides of the sectarian
divide in Northern Ireland.

While we understand some viewers will have reservations about Adams'
inclusion in the series, we hope they will reserve judgement for the
programme.

Nevertheless, please be assured that your comments have been noted and
logged for the information of those responsible for our programming.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all
feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise.

Regards,
Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries

I understand their position but I will not be watching this documentary! Very quick response. I am sure they have had a few complaints already!

Twilight

So, on a lighter note than some of my last posts, I'm reading the Twilight Series at the moment.

Since I have some time on my hands and am reluctant to start the Steven Erikkson series (which is a tough read) yet I had to find something else to read. My sister had the Twilight series and since I quite like sci-fi, vampire/werewolf and lots of other types of lore I thought I would give it a go. I'm in my second week and on my third book! See, lot's of time on my hands...lol.

I had seen the first 2 films and the books are almost identical....it's unusual for these kinds of films to be kept true to the book (Harry Potter is a perfect example / Eragon too!) but as I recently found out, Stephanie Meyer has kept the rights to the adaptation of her books so I now understand why the films are identical. Very wise of Meyer to do this. If I wrote a book and a Director massacred my story I would be mad!

Anyway, I am on the 3rd book, Eclipse, and I actually quite like the story, probably because I am quite invested with the characters now, but I do enjoy it. The lead character Bella is really annoying but I am over that now. I will write more once I have finished all 4 books but for the moment I would recommend these books...not to everyone!...but definitely to women/girls who like fantasy and lore....gets you away from the real world for a while!

Here's a reason to watch the films ;)

Gerry Adam's search for Jesus!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8398219.stm

I said I would write about the Robinson Scandal and how I did enjoy that...but writing about it has taken a backseat. I am so disgusted with the Sinn Fein Scandal that I need to write about it before I lose my mind!

So when I heard that Gerry Adams was going to be on a Channel 4 series looking at the Bible and the search for Jesus/God I was absolutely horrified!

Why would Channel 4 chose such an abhorrent creature to talk about faith and the word of God, because lets face it...he himself has never followed any of the scriptures/teachings or even morals and values that the Bible states. I'm no God bothering bible basher but I have serious morals and values that would make my skin crawl just looking at this man and his "brethren".

Thou shalt not kill/murder! Don't think he remembered that one! Let's add another one shall we?

Thou shalt not cover up sexual and physical abuse!

So, my blood is now boiling! I sent a complaint to C4 to say that it is appalling that they would air this man's views on the Bible. Yes, he spouts his religious nonsense on a regular basis and heads up to Clonard every week (I'm surprised he isn't struck down as he crosses the threshold!) but this has gone too far! Where are the sensible people of the world saying "This Man shouldn't be allowed to get away with this!" "Step Down from Public life", etc etc....the Robinson's have done very little in comparison to what this man has covered up! Lies and Deception are his skills but we don't have to put up with it!

I will let you know if I get a response from Channel 4 but doubt anything would ever be done! To believe this man gets paid for this sacrilege!

Party Membership Regulations by SF

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/adams-sf-didnrsquot-know-about-abuse-claims-14635152.html?r=RSS

So they don't want peadophiles as members of Sinn Fein!....yet baby killers, murderers, bombers, gun runners, racketeers and all other sorts of scum are widely accepted!

Can someone tell me why this is totally ridiculous to me?!

Can someone tell me why the people of Northern Ireland let these scum bags run the country?

I am baffled beyond words!

Is there help for NI out there anywhere?

Can there be some sort of alternative political situation where we are not dealing with this anymore?

Superman...where are you to save us?

Marie's Birthday and Sherlock Holmes

Today was my sister's birthday. Luckily i am back to normal again after being sick so was able to venture out into the world after my hermiting!

We got up late-ish and went out to see the new Sherlock Holmes film. To be honest I was slightly disappointed! Gritty look but not overly gritty content. Humourous but not funny enough. Good chemistry between Downey and Law but Downey is much better suited to the Stark character in Iron Man. Maybe I was expecting too much! The story was a bit weak but very Holmes-esque. Can't say I was really impressed. It wasn't a waste of my VIP money (because I got free tea and a lazeeboy) but still wasn't exactly great!

See it for yourselves to judge but i'm only giving it 7 out of 10.

Sickness and Snow

So, you know I was in Vegas with my Sis who was sick the whole time but I escaped getting the cold at all even though I was with her all the time! Well, as soon as I came back I got sick in the New Year! I have spent the first week of the New Year in my house....kind of a good thing with the weather being as bad as it was! There was no way I was setting foot outside the door so I took some photos from my bedroom window (above). I love the snow but there was no way I was heading out it in to get sicker.

Anywho, just thought I would stick the photos up.

The Rain!

Went to Las Vegas to see Rain, the Legend, in his "The Rain - Legend of Rainism" performance at Caesar's Palace.

It was my second K-Pop concert and we were worried that he might cancel at the last minute because he has done that a few times before....and didn't refund the ticket money!!! So, we held off on buying tickets until the day before when we came back from LA.

When we got to Caesar's it was really funny to see all the asian/asian american's looking at us really funny! It was much worse when I went to see Shinhwa in Japan but it was still quite obvious that we were one of the few white people around...lol! When we went to find our seats the usher said "Are you Rain Fans!"...he was asian american and seemed bemused more than anything else but we just went with it.

I don't know what I was expecting but I really impressed with his voice! He had such a strong voice and was a great performer. The main annoyance was the fact that he kept getting onto his hands and knees and panting after/during some of the songs, like he was about to pass out...lol. I guess he isn't as fit as he was when he was training for Ninja Assassin! Well, i suppose I will give him a break...like I'm fit in any way.

He spent more time on his slower tempo R&B stuff and skipped over some of his best stuff but I will forgive him because overall it was great.

My next goal is to get to a kpop concert in Korea...don't know what my chances are but I'll give it a go eventually...when I'm not broke!

Here's my favourite rain song for you!

Been a while...

So, I have been wanted to get my blog started again because I have really been terrible about keeping it up. I love my friends blogs because it gives me a chance to see what they are doing if I haven't seen them for a while, keeping us connected if even just a little. Hopefully my friends will see that I am still as kookie as I have always been...lol.
