Eragon the farce

So, you know from the last post that I went to see Eragon the other day. Well, I knew that it was going to be a little different but when I actually got there and sat through it I was totally baffled and apalled!!!! I was shocked to see that the film was almost nothing like the book. The characters were poorly cast, poorly acted, the story was totally changed and it was poorly thought out and will be very hard to lead into the next story unless of course they change that too.

I once thought the film versions of Harry Potter were terrible but I now see that they actually werent that bad. At least they were cast well and the characters had the right hair colour (maybe not the right eye colour...Harry should have eyes like his mum...I'm a bit nerdy really..) But seriously, I am so sick and tired of crappy Hollywood movies and companies that destroy the idea of good books and stories. I'm sure the author must but sickened by it unless he is only interested in the money.

I wouldnt recommend anyone who has read the book to see Eragon in the Theatre. If you really want to see it...wait for the dvd or tv showing. Don't waste your money on this crappy film...its utter garbage!!

An Interview and other stuff....

So the Insomnia and overthinking have come back with a vengance and I thought I would try to waste some time posting something on here. I don't have much fun stuff to talk about at the moment because the weather is crappy and I have been doing nothing of interest. I did decorate the Christmas tree today but I usually am the mug who does that around here anyway. I tend to be a bit weird about the tree...I need to use only 2 main colours and hate coloured lights...strange I know. But I couldnt follow my rules this year so the tree looks a bit...crap! Pictures soon.

The only thing I have done this week is go to a job interview on Monday. It was kind of a weird experience as I havent had a serious interview in about 3 years. I felt a bit nervous and was a bit shaky but was able to answer all the questions....relatively well..not fantastically though. To be totally honest though I don't even know if I want the job. The money isn't great and it's not entirely what I want to do but hey...beggars can't be choosers and all that! I doubt I will get it anyway! Will let you know.

On the plus side, I was panicking about buying a new suit because most of the shops aren't selling suits at the moment and selling winter jackets and party clothes instead. I was lucky enough to find a nice suit which fits pretty well. The benefits of not living in Japan...clothes that fit!!!!!

I'm going to see Eragon tomorrow...excited! Dragons, fights, fantasy, cute guys...what more could I want! The book is fantastic and I already know that the wonders of Hollywood have already messed about with the plot and characters so lets hope I can stomach it. If you don't know what Eragon is heres the website. Enjoy! http://www.eragonmovie.com/

Christmas Time!

Mistletoe and Wine! Ah its time for Cliff Richards, too much food, bad weather, horrible crowds in shopping centers, girls walking around with short skirts in the freezing cold and all other manner of festive follies that we all love so much.

A first for me this year was the Continental Fair held at the City Hall in Belfast. Thats what you can barely see in the pictures. I decided to visit the fair on possibly the worst day and got totally soaked yet again. Hence the blurry photos as I was trying to hold my umbrella and the camera at the same time.

Anyway, there are alot of great stalls where you can buy all sorts of great stuff from Europe like dutch cheese, german sausages, spanish paella, french bread, pastries and some more international fair like mexican food, Indian curry and even Kangaroo burgers...didnt try that though! I'm going to try to get some better photos before the festival ends so hopefully I can upload them next week. I still want to buy some last minute christmas presents from there too...I did buy some garlic cheese and lots of lovely pastries already....might get some more...lol.

Drenched

Went out for a walk with Liza, little Stephen and Diesel today.

Now when we decided to go out it was quite a nice day...... Liza called me back not a minute after we hung up and said it was raining. Of course I didnt notice! Typical...so we decided that we would play it by ear and wait until she called over to get me and then decide and if it was still raining then we would go shopping or something.

When she arrived it wasnt so bad outside and we decided to take Diesel too. We got the park, well the tow path along the river, and started walking. As soon as we started walking didnt the rain get heavier! I didn't have an umbrella, hood or raincoat....typical. I should know better! But that really taught me a lesson about not forgetting where you come from. I was miserably soaked. Me and Liza were soaked to the skin and of course Diesel didnt care. Lucky little Stephen was cosily tucked up in his pram under the rain cover...god i was jealous.

Note to self!....Bring a bloddy Umbrella!
