Korean Artists again accused of Plagiarism!

Plagiarism is something that has been hounding Korean artists over the years and several examples had made the headlines recently. G-Dragon, CN Blue and several others have been accused of plagiarising other artists to some extent however, the most recent case is most definitely the most serious.

Hyori (Lee Hyori), the most popular female artist in Korea has made a comeback and unfortunately 6 out of the 7 songs on her album have been accused of being copied. You can see full details on the link below.

Usually the accusation is unfounded or it relates to an uncited sample or small part of a melody but this time they have just blatantly copied songs! I doubt she will get away with this one!

The song above is a good one and the only song that hasn't been pulled for being plagiarised!

Weed! - In my street!

Yesterday was an odd day! Spotted some police heading into the house at the bottom of the street at about 10am. The house is always oddly quiet since it was sold a while ago. We saw some Asian people, possibly Chinese, at one point but haven't seen them since so thought they had moved out!

When we returned home at 11.30 there were over 10 people standing outside the house, police, official looking types and I thought some paramedics. I immediately thought someone had been found dead or they had discovered prostitution or illegal immigrants squatting.

About an hour or 2 later the skips started arriving and the police started dumping everything out of the house. They must of filled 4 skips full of stuff. All the neighbours started chatting in the street and some mentioned that the house always had closed curtains and condensation on the windows. Then one of the older ladies in the street mentioned cannabis and we all knew that that was the closest explanation of what could be the reason for the situation.

The police wouldn't tell us anything and told one of the neighbours to watch the news at 6pm but there was no news about it at all. There was a small picture and some information in the News Letter this morning that they had found 400 cannabis plants of varying stages of growth in different rooms in the house!!! We don't know who is responsible or if they caught anyone but they did take a lot of stuff out of the house. I heard that they were paying £1600 a month for rent but I am sure they were making much more with the weed! I am sure they are sickened that they have lost it!

Turns out that an Asian family near a friend of mine was caught for the same thing! I'm guessing that there is some mental Asian Weed Ring in Belfast at the moment...lol

NI Election Debate - What Debate?????!!!!

So what was that? There was very little debate on issues that I saw! All I saw was poor speaking, issue dodging and a really poor chairman!

Who thought Jim Dougal was strong enough to run the show? Gerry Adams ran the show in the end, giving Reg Empey the go ahead to speak at one point! I couldn't stand his smug smirk that he had throughout the show either! To be honest I find it hard to listen to Adams especially when he refuses to admit that he was ever in the IRA....he said he was never invited!!!!! In West Belfast in the 60s and 70s, he was at the forefront of the Republican Movement but no one ever invited him to join the IRA!!! I think this was the biggest joke of the night. Everyone in my house was appalled and I am sure many other homes felt the same outburst of disgust at that point!

Reg Empey came out the most measured and honest in my opinion. Even though he made a few digs at Robinson he still stayed quite calm. He suit was the only downer for me!

Robinson was very quiet in my opinion. He is a very confident and experienced politician and although he wasn't as vocal as usual he still showed his confidence through his answers. He looked very bemused at some of Gerry Adams answers but who wasn't!!!

Poor Margaret Ritchie though showed her inexperience. Most people who know me know that as much as I like Margaret personally she wasn't my choice for the new party leader and she proved my points last night. She doesn't have the speaking ability, knowledge, ability to retort, charisma or skill to fight back against the other leaders who much more experienced! I really wanted her to look up and fight back. Tell Adams she will give him answers when he gives answers, truthful answers, about his past in the IRA, locations of the disappeared and why he left his niece to flounder when finding out about the awful abuse she suffered.

All in all it was a poor showing on all fronts and I hope the next debate is an actual debate!

Poster War

**Note - Turns out that neither candidate is in the wrong but to clarify for constituents the electoral commission should really let them know in which constituency they are now living in. It is a grey area that is very difficult to clear up!

There are always complaints during the election about Posters. Some people complain that they are outside their house and don't want to see them, others complain when rival posters are put up in the wrong area, and some complain about posters that aren't down after the election (this annoys me too, but it is easy to miss the odd one).

Now normally these things don't bother me but I had to investigate a problem with Mum's posters today. I was told that their had been a complaint about our posters being beside the UCUNF (Ulster Unionist and Tories) candidate for South Belfast. The borders of course meet along the boundary line but I had been very careful about their position. Turns out that it wasn't our mistake at all, the UCNUF posters are way out of their boundary. If it was only 1 poster I wouldn't be bothered but there are 7-10 posters on the main Knock dual carriage-way out of South belfast and into East Belfast.

South Belfast MP Alasdair McDonnell was recently criticised that he didn't know his constituency because he was postering in a certain area, which was rubbish and the journalist who claimed this was completely wrong in his accusations. This journalist should be looking to his right-wing friends as someone closer to home who has no clue where the boundaries lie!

Another funny occurance was the vision of Barbre de Bruin's face on a poster in East Belfast at the Newtownards Road/Castlereagh Road/Short Strand junction. This should have been taken down quite a while ago! I'm surprised no one has complained about that. I think I might mention it to the Electoral Office...lol...what is the fine for this these days?

Barbre isn't standing in this election is she???

Election Time Again!

So it is election time again and I was not expecting to have to do much more than a bit of canvassing and leafleting but how wrong I was!

Mum is standing again in this election and I have been given the job of Election Agent. I don't mind helping out at all but it has been pretty stressful because of the boundary changes and the late notice meaning that deadlines crept up pretty quickly.

I have just received my leaflets this morning so while most candidates have been canvassing already we will only be starting this weekend. For us that's not a great problem because we have a smaller area to cover as we are only covering the Catholic and Mixed areas of East Belfast as the DUP have the vote pretty much tied up over there.

I would like to see Naomi Long give Mr Robinson a run for his money this time round but I think he will probable retain his seat. I would like to see a build in the SDLP vote and we have meet a lot of new supporters this time than we had in previous elections so that is a hopeful sign.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!
